keep the steel rail in correct position on basis of equal length of rail
bearings and reliable connection between steel rail and rail bearing,
preventing steel rail from moving in transverse and longitudinal directions,
providing certain elasticity for the rail structure to decrease vibration and
delay the residual deformation accumulation for the rail, bearing the
loading when train passes and the complex stress effects including
pressure, bending force, shear force, and fretting wear, etc. According to
the functions, the fishplate is divided into cemented fishplate, irregular
fishplate and normal fishplate.
